GREENLAND
ICEBERGS, NORTHERN LIGHTS & ARCTIC ADVENTURES
SEP 1-10, 2026 • 10 DAYS • 12 GUESTS only
Embark on a remarkable Arctic journey through the wild landscapes of Greenland, where colossal glaciers, vibrant Inuit culture, and abundant wildlife converge in one of Earth’s most remote and awe-inspiring regions.
The journey begins at Keflavik Airport, where you’ll meet your fellow travelers and expedition guide before flying to East Greenland. Board the MS Balto, a beautifully appointed polar expedition yacht designed for immersive exploration of remote fjords, hidden anchorages, and rarely visited communities along Greenland’s wild east coast.
Discover Tasiilaq, East Greenland’s largest settlement, where Inuit traditions and shamanic myths come to life. A guided village walk offers insight into the local art scene, history, and cultural heritage, set against a dramatic backdrop of towering peaks and iceberg-dotted waters. Sail through the stunning Ammassalik Fjord system, visiting the secluded village of Kuummiut, where traditional hunting and fishing practices are still alive, and enjoy breathtaking views of the Arctic wilderness. Explore the Johan Petersen Fjord and witness massive glaciers calving icebergs into turquoise waters and ancient Inuit ruins standing as quiet reminders of Greenland’s rich history. The fjord is home to Arctic foxes, seals, whales, and the iconic musk ox, whose shaggy forms roam the tundra. Throughout the journey, experience the grandeur of Greenland’s vast ice sheet and intricate fjord systems, revealing the raw beauty of this Arctic realm.
On our final day in Greenland, after disembarking the ship, travel by boat through iceberg-filled fjords to a remote glacier island. Hike across the ice to explore a stunning blue ice cave—an unforgettable, exclusive experience in East Greenland’s frozen wilderness.
Enhance your Arctic journey with a 3-day Pre-Extension in Iceland. Dive into the crystal-clear waters of the Silfra Continental Divide, explore the Þingvellir National Park, and visit Reykjavik’s key sites. Spend a full day touring the Reykjanes Peninsula discovering steaming geothermal fields, volcanic lakes, and the symbolic Bridge Between Continents. Conclude with a relaxing soak in the iconic Blue Lagoon, surrounded by black lava fields and milky-blue waters. This unique prelude offers the perfect balance of adventure, culture, and natural wonder.

“We just completed our fifteenth trip with Wild Earth Expeditions to Norway and Svalbard. We continue to be amazed at the once-in-a-lifetime animal encounters, miraculous weather, fantastic cultural experiences and fun that can only be explained by expert planning and guidance by Thomas and Natalia. It is not unusual for the carefully selected local guides to also encounter “firsts” on our trips. Due to the high number of repeats on Wild Earth trips, we have developed lifelong friendships, and every trip is a reunion of sorts and new friendships built. It doesn’t stop at the end of the trip. Thomas and Natalia are superb photographers and videographers providing a digital record (in the water and on land) of our experiences to share with friends and family. We have never met anyone who can top these experiences. We call it Wild Earth magic. Thank you, Thomas, for enriching our lives on every level.”

MS BALTO
M/S Balto is named after the lead sled dog of the 1925 Nome serum run. Built to the highest ice class standards in Rauma, Finland, she originally served as a government service ship in the Baltic Sea. Between 2019 and 2022, she underwent a complete refurbishment and is now one of the most spacious and elegant small polar expedition yachts in service. M/S Balto offers relaxed luxury accommodation for 12 guests in 7 outside cabins, all with private facilities and lower beds. The spacious cabins include 1 Owner’s Cabin, 1 Superior Cabin, 3 Double Cabins, and 2 Single Cabins. The Owner’s Cabin is 30m², features 6 windows and a queen bed, while the Superior Cabin has two twin beds. The three Double Cabins each feature a queen bed. Both the Owner’s Cabin and the Superior Cabin also offer a separate seating area. All cabins are equipped with a desk, a chair, and a wardrobe for storage.
On the guest deck, there is a small sauna with a cold shower. The richly appointed saloon and beautiful dining messroom feature crotch-mahogany panelling, a bar, a library, and coffee and tea stations.
There are several open and semi-enclosed deck spaces where you can enjoy the stunning Arctic scenery. You are welcomed by an international crew, and the bridge is open to visitors.
M/S Balto is designed to explore the most remote fjord systems, visit Inuit settlements, reach secluded anchorages, and maximise each guest’s experience in the pristine wilderness.
