This September, our Wild Earth Explorers adventured through the magical lush green islands of the Azores archipelago, situated in the middle of the Atlantic. We enjoyed scenic hikes and bike rides throughout the volcanic landscapes and forests filled with flowering hydrangeas and dipped our bodies in crystal-clear rock pools skirting rugged coastlines. Our grand adventure to the high Arctic was everything we hoped for and more. We travelled to the far northeast corner of Svalbard, where no other ships venture. Aboard the heritage-listed vessel, it felt like we were the crew on an Arctic explorer's voyage to discover new lands and uncharted waters. We had brilliant wildlife experiences, with multiple encounters with polar bears and curious walrus.
We’ve just returned from our first expedition in 2 years, and it was exceptional. It felt so fantastic to finally be able to travel overseas again, to experience a different culture, unique food, blow some bubbles ;-) and to have incredible wildlife encounters.
